Job Title: Chief Information Officer

Main Responsibilities:
Align and Plan
- Define and manage the IT strategy aligned with business goals, providing IT leadership.
- Design the overall IT operating model and oversee all IT capabilities such as service planning, development, cybersecurity, and service management.
- Lead all IT contractual obligations, including negotiations, renewals, and terminations.
- Establish and maintain the IT organizational structure and staffing to meet organizational objectives.
- Develop, manage, and report on annual budgets, including cost and productivity analyses.
- Manage internal and external relationships effectively.
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive IT risk management framework aligned with the company's risk methodology.
- Ensure IT strategies support revenue-generating business lines.
Design and Build
- Manage all IT projects from inception to successful implementation.
- Ensure new or modified services are properly designed and documented.
- Contribute to policy development and participate in planning committees.
- Lead IT conceptualization, innovation, design, and build to support new business initiatives and revenue targets.
Operate and Support
- Develop and report on key IT metrics to executive leadership.
- Oversee daily IT operations, ensuring compliance and resilience.
- Implement disaster recovery plans and testing to ensure operational continuity.
- Represent the organization in internal and external forums and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor operational effectiveness and implement improvements.
- Manage outsourced and vendor relationships to ensure contractual compliance and service quality.
- Provide user support, training, and communication on cybersecurity matters.
People
- Manage the IT team to maintain high performance standards.
- Develop team members to ensure consistent delivery across the organization.
- Participate as a key member of the Operations Cluster leadership team.
Academic Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification, preferably in IT or related fields.
- Commerce-related qualification is advantageous.
Work Experience
- Over 10 years of IT management experience in finance or customer-focused environments.
- At least 3-5 years in a senior IT management role within the banking industry.
- Experience in small to medium banks is preferred.
- Knowledge of information security standards (ISO 27001) and IT service management (ISO 20000).
- Extensive knowledge of banking technologies.
