CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER - HOSPITALITY - CAPE TOWN, CBD

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Full financial management including:
  2. Oversight over properties in Southern Africa
  3. Preparation of group reports for presentation and distribution to the various stakeholders.
  4. Attendance and presentation at holding company/investor board meetings.
  5. Develop and oversee business plans and financial strategies.
  6. Manage cash flows, management accounts, and VAT compliance.
  7. Supervise UIF, payroll, creditors & debtors, and invoicing.
  8. Provide financial leadership and mentorship to the current bookkeeping team.
  9. Ensure strong financial controls and reporting.
  10. Oversight of the accounting and finance of hotels and management companies.
  11. Review and approval of financial performance.
  12. Oversight and approval of the annual budgets.
  13. Oversight and preparation of the annual external audit.
  14. Preparation of ad hoc feasibility studies and financial models.
  15. Preparation and review of new projects and properties.
  16. Managing the external audit for the holding company.
  17. Managing the statutory requirement for the holding company.
  18. Oversight of the tax related duties for the holding company.
  19. Ability to streamline business operations and administration by developing and implementing efficient controls, processes and change management that drive growth, good governance, risk management, compliance, increased operational efficiency and overall bottom-line profit.
  20. Deliver business objectives with a strong focus on pragmatic solutions, strategic recommendations and resolving issues with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  21. Analytical and methodical, retaining a flexible and collaborative approach to enable identification of operational efficiencies and best practices.
  22. Excellent in building relationships and interacting with individuals at all levels of organisations.

Requirements:

  • Professional Finance designation for eg. CA(SA) / CIMA / SAIPA
  • Bachelors and or Honors Degree in Finance
  • Proven experience in hospitality and retail finance.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide the finance team.
  • Hands-on approach with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
