Job description

A Production Manager is required in the Tulbagh / Winelands area. You will oversee all aspects of production and ensure efficiency, high quality and cost effective manufacturing processes.

Minimum Requirements :

• Grade 12
• Degree in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Food Technology, or a related field
• Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma (Green / Black Belt) would be advantageous
• 5-8 years in Production Management role within food manufacturing or FMCG industry
• Good working knowledge of ERP Systems
• Experience with budget and cost saving initiatives

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Plan, organize, and manage production schedules to meet customer demands and business objectives
• Implement and sustain lean manufacturing processes to boost efficiency and reduce waste
• Ensure adherence to industry-specific quality, safety, and environmental standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 14001)
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, yield, and costs
• Lead, mentor, and develop production teams to achieve operational excellence and foster employee engagement
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and quality assurance teams to optimize supply chain and production flow
• Manage production budgets and ensure cost control without compromising quality or safety standards
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cultivate a culture of innovation
• Oversee equipment maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency
• Identify and mitigate production-related risks to ensure uninterrupted business operations
• Ensure compliance with South African labor laws, occupational health and safety regulations, and company policies
• Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on production performance and improvement opportunities
