Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled CFO to join our team overseeing a multifaceted agricultural and meat processing operation. The role involves financial management and strategic leadership for our maize and soya bean cultivation, feedlot with capacity for approximately 45,000 cattle, and an abattoir that caters to both local and international markets.

POSITION INFO :

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  2. Inventory Management: Ensure accurate and efficient management of inventory across agricultural and processing operations.
  3. IT Management: Direct IT strategy to support financial systems and operational efficiency.
  4. Strategic Direction: Collaborate with Operations and Marketing Directors to align financial strategy with business goals.
  5. Benchmarking & KPI Management: Develop and track performance metrics to ensure business objectives are met.
  6. Commercial Contracts: Review and assess the financial impact of commercial contracts.
  7. Finance Division Management: Lead and manage a team of 10+ professionals.

Requirements :

  1. Qualifications: (SA) required.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a CFO or FD role within agricultural or manufacturing sectors, with experience managing businesses with a turnover exceeding R300m per annum.
  3. Skills: Efficient, organized, and accurate with a keen eye for detail. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines consistently. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to work hard and go the extra mile.
  4. Additional: Reliable own transport is essential.
