Key Requirements
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or equivalent
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant post-qualification experience
- At least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role, preferably in a franchised or decentralised business structure
- Extensive experience in financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and strategic financial management
- Strong understanding of IFRS, tax regulations, and corporate governance
- Experience in stakeholder management, including external auditors, banks, and franchise partners
- Strong commercial acumen and business partnering capability
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing finance teams
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Experience in the motor industry or a similar high-volume, operationally complex environment is highly advantageous
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Leadership
- Develop and drive the financial strategy across the franchise network in alignment with corporate objectives
- Provide financial insights to support key business decisions and franchise performance improvement
- Advise on investment opportunities, expansion, and risk management
- Lead the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) across franchises
Financial Management & Controls
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across all franchise entities
- Ensure robust internal controls, risk mitigation, and compliance frameworks are in place
- Drive accurate, timely monthly and annual reporting in accordance with IFRS and internal standards
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and funding strategies across franchise operations
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
- Act as the financial liaison between the franchise operations and executive leadership, including reporting to the board
- Maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, and regulators
- Support due diligence, financial modelling, and integration for new franchise acquisitions or divestitures
Team Leadership & Operational Oversight
- Lead and mentor the finance team across central and franchise units
- Support the development of systems, processes, and financial capabilities across the network
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment of financial goals with operational delivery
- Monitor and enhance cost efficiency, procurement controls, and profitability initiatives
