Chief Financial Officer

Our client, a leading international automotive retail group, is seeking a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with extensive experience in the automotive industry. The CFO will report directly to the CEO and will be based in Johannesburg East, with occasional travel to East Africa required.

Skills and Experience:

• A minimum of 8 years of post-articles experience is essential.
• Proven experience in leading and managing a team.
• In-depth experience within the automotive retail sector.
• Willingness to travel to African countries as needed.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a finance team of 8 members.
• Oversee the entire financial function at Head Office and across four dealerships in Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, and Zambia.
• Review and analyse monthly financial reporting packs for ten entities.
• Prepare the monthly treasury pack and provide insights.
• Compile and present reports for the financial risk and review committee.
• Generate monthly flash reports for senior management.
• Develop and present annual budgets for all entities.
• Handle working capital and cashflow management effectively.
• Oversee risk management and ensure adherence to corporate governance standards.
• Coordinate and manage both internal and external audits.
• Standardise internal controls across all dealerships.
