A fast-moving, dynamic leader in the bookmaking and iGaming space is searching for a commercially savvy, forward-thinking CFO to lead their finance function into the next era of growth.

This is more than just a numbers game – this role calls for a strategic partner who understands the complexity of regulated markets and thrives on making data-driven decisions that shape the future of the business.

As CFO, you’ll play a pivotal role in guiding the financial direction of the business. You’ll work closely with the MD and senior leadership team to drive performance, lead compliance in a highly regulated environment, and create a finance function that is not only efficient but visionary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Shape and drive the overall financial strategy and ensure the business is financially geared for scale and innovation.
• Maintain rigorous compliance with South Africa’s complex financial and gambling frameworks, including FICA, the Gambling Act, and tax regulations.
• Lead the charge on risk identification, AML compliance, fraud mitigation, and internal control frameworks.
• Own the forecasting and budgeting process, providing insights that enable agile business decision-making.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness in reporting and compliance with IFRS and local accounting standards.
• Oversee cash flow planning, liquidity management, and capital allocation to support business growth.
• Act as the bridge between finance and the board, investors, auditors, and regulators.
• Champion cost control, procurement efficiency, and smart financial systems.
• Evaluate, implement, and optimise finance systems and digital tools to streamline processes and support real-time insights.

Requirements:

• A Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) designation or equivalent.
• Significant experience in senior financial leadership, ideally within the gambling, iGaming, or regulated industries.
• Deep knowledge of South African financial legislation, including FICA, Gambling Act, and related compliance frameworks.
• Expertise in risk management, compliance, and financial reporting.
• Proven ability to lead, inspire, and build high-performing finance teams.
• A strategic mindset coupled with hands-on executional excellence.
