Qualification and Experience
10 - 12 years' relevant auditing experience, of which 5 should be in Financial Services and 5 should be at Senior Management level.
Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified IS Auditor (CISA), or other relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., B. Compt Hons, CFSA).
Position Specific Outputs
The core tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Establish, maintain, and enhance the overall audit methodology applied.
- Establish, maintain, and enhance the positioning of Internal Audit with the Board and senior management through the Internal Audit Charter, regular reporting, and feedback on the internal audit department's overall performance.
- Develop and deliver a clear vision, mission, and strategy for the audit department.
- Develop an appropriate audit strategy and audit plan that are risk-based and aligned with the Group's strategy while delivering on stakeholder expectations.
- Establish and continuously manage the in-house internal audit resources.
- Ensure delivery of the agreed assurance plans.
- Ensure effective client servicing through:
- Delivery of regular reporting to various stakeholders.
- Continuous communication between Internal Audit and management.
- Focus on key relationships.
- Establish, maintain, and enhance an Internal Quality Assurance and Improvement plan to ensure adherence to IIA standards.
- Collaborate with other assurance providers to ensure a cost-effective and comprehensive assurance plan for the Board.
- Participate in various strategic and governance forums established to manage the risks and strategic projects of the Group.
- Participate in the broader Sanlam Group Internal Audit strategic management initiatives.
Compliance and Risk Management
Legal, statutory, and regulatory compliance (public accountability) on all requirements are implemented and maintained for the function.
