SUMMARY:
A well-established, vertically integrated agribusiness in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with headquarters in Abu Dhabi, UAE, is seeking a hands-on, strategic Chief Financial Officer to elevate the finance function into a core pillar of business growth. The CFO will serve as a key partner to the founders, playing a critical role in capital raising efforts, ERP implementation, and financial governance across expanding, multi-jurisdictional operations.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Must have a relevant tertiary qualification
- Minimum 15–20+ years’ senior finance leadership, preferably in agribusiness, FMCG, or industrial sectors
- Proven success in emerging markets, particularly Africa
- Strong experience in treasury, financial modelling, and fundraising
- Must have ERP implementation experience (preferably Odoo or similar platforms)
- Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial and hands-on leadership style
- Exposure to vertically integrated value chains is an advantage
- Skilled in overseeing multi-country operations and aligning financial functions with corporate growth
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing full-spectrum financial leadership across jurisdictions, from operations to strategy.
- Overseeing accounting, tax, and compliance in alignment with OHADA and local standards.
- Leading treasury operations, focusing on 13-week rolling cash flow forecasts and FX management.
- Implementing and finalizing the Odoo ERP finance modules within a six-month timeline.
- Developing executive dashboards and real-time reporting tools.
- Defining and tracking KPIs to support operational rigor and accountability.
- Driving fundraising processes, including deal structuring and investor relations.
- Leading and developing the finance team (25 staff), including the Financial Controller, FP&A, and Treasury.
- Engaging in strategic planning and investment decision-making as part of the Executive Committee.
- Strengthening internal controls, audit readiness, and risk management systems.
- Cultivating strong relationships with banks, regulators, financial institutions, and investors.
