For this particular role our client is a fast-growing global F&B (food and beverage) enterprise. We develop talent-led category-winning F&B IP and scale it through multiple specialized portfolio companies ranging from event catering to next-gen white-labeled products and premium fast-casual dining. With revenues growing quickly from 3M to 15M in 2024 and a forecasted run rate of over 45M (>30m secured) in 2025 the company aspires to become a global leader in F&B backed by world-class investors.
The Opportunity
As the Chief Financial Officer you will be the linchpin between our group holding and our various subsidiary businesses. You will work with our leadership team to determine how we allocate capital and resources, strengthen our treasury function, and shape our financial strategy as we scale internationally, ensuring strong governance and board-level accountability. You will also lead our growing finance and back-office teams which provide services to our portfolio.
Your mandate is to transform the group into a world-class engine that supports high growth, orchestrates complex cross-border deals, and drives sustainable profitability across our F&B portfolio. This is a hands-on role requiring both a detail-oriented approach to daily operations and the gravitas to influence strategy and high-stakes decision-making at the executive and board levels.
Key Differentiator
We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer with direct experience in F&B or hospitality, someone who understands the nuances of working capital and seasonality, leverage, and specialized deal-making unique to the sector.
Performance Objectives
Below is a high-level view of the critical outcomes expected in this role in the first 12 months:
- Design & Implement Group Treasury Function: Architect a robust treasury system to optimize working capital, treasury operations, risk management, and returns. Ensure real-time visibility into cash flow across all portfolio companies.
- Consolidated Reporting & Governance: Create a consistent reporting cadence enabling accurate and insightful performance tracking at both the TopCo and subsidiary levels. Standardize board packs and governance frameworks.
- Immediate Impact on Portfolio Oversight: Build strong relationships with each subsidiary CEO and their financial leadership team quickly establishing trust and credibility. Conduct rapid assessments of current financial controls and capabilities within each business.
- Financial Compliance & Regulatory Liaison: Ensure adherence to local and international financial regulations. Serve as the primary liaison with auditors and regulatory bodies to maintain compliance and uphold financial integrity across the organisation.
Drive Strategic Capital Allocation & Risk Management
- Capital Allocation Planning: Translate the company’s growth ambitions into a quantifiable capital allocation strategy. Prioritize investments and M&A opportunities balancing near-term growth and long-term resilience.
- Risk & Return Reporting: Implement rigorous risk management processes and reporting. Ensure that each investment or corporate action is weighed against well-defined return metrics and enterprise-wide risk thresholds.
- Board and Investor Stakeholder Management: Take direct board seats on key portfolio companies representing the group’s interests and ensuring that performance milestones, budgets, and accountability measures are met.
Oversee the Back-Office Team & Scale Operational Excellence
- Integrate & Strengthen Back-Office Services: Own this department ensuring streamlined processes that effectively serve the diverse needs of each portfolio entity.
- Elevate Talent & Team Performance: Mentor, manage, and scale the finance and back-office teams. Recruit top-tier talent where needed and devise clear development paths.
- Cross-Functional Synergy: Partner with operations, technology, and executive chefs/sommeliers across the portfolio to establish best-in-class F&B finance practices from cost controls to supply chain optimization.
Support International Fundraising, M&A, and Strategic Partnerships
- Fundraising & Financing Deals: Spearhead multi-currency debt and equity deals working with global investors, banks, and strategic partners. Demonstrate swift execution to fuel our expansion in key markets (e.g. Paris, Miami, New York).
- M&A and Corporate Development: Identify, assess, and execute strategic acquisitions or joint ventures that accelerate the group’s global presence and expand capabilities.
- Legal Strategy & Compliance: Oversee the General Counsel function. Align legal frameworks, IP protection, and corporate structures with the company’s rapid growth trajectory.
Enable Growth & Profitability Targets through Strategic Financial Leadership
- Drive Financial Control and Oversight to Achieve Targeted Revenue & EBITDA: Ensure robust financial controls, capital deployment, and operational efficiencies to deliver on aggressive but attainable performance metrics as a whole.
- Global Integration: Consolidate the group’s position as a multi-vertical globally recognized F&B brand seamlessly integrating new portfolio companies and launching new concepts.
- Future-Proof the Finance Organization: Continuously evolve financial processes, data analytics, and technology solutions to set the industry benchmark for best practices in hospitality finance.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
As an ideal candidate, you must have the following:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in senior financial roles, preferably within venture capital, private equity, or high-growth industries.
