Requirements :
- A Grade 12 Certificate, an appropriate Degree (NQF level 7) in a health-related field, and current registration with the relevant professional body.
- A postgraduate qualification in Management, with experience in an academic setting, will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of three (3) years of management experience in managing a public health institution.
- Knowledge and understanding of legislation, related regulations, and policies in the public sector, particularly in health and hospital management.
- A valid Driver’s Licence (with exceptions for persons with disabilities). Computer literacy.
Duties :
- Plan, direct, coordinate, and manage the efficient and effective delivery of clinical and administrative support services in collaboration with the hospital's Executive Management team. Represent the hospital at provincial and public forums; provide strategic leadership to enhance operational efficiency and health outcomes.
- Strategic Planning: Develop a strategic plan aligned with the National Development Plan (NDP), provincial plans, and priorities.
- Financial Management: Maximize revenue collection; manage the hospital within budget according to the PFMA; establish policies and systems for prudent financial management, resource mobilization, monitoring, evaluation, and asset and risk management.
- Facility Management: Ensure effective business support systems for optimal management and service delivery; maintain facilities and equipment proactively.
- Human Resource Management: Develop and implement HR policies and procedures for effective resource utilization; ensure a safe working environment; lead personnel development and training.
- Procurement and Equipment Management: Implement transparent, competitive procurement processes; ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing of goods and services.
- Clinical and Corporate Governance: Oversee clinical governance to maintain high patient care standards; establish community networks; report to the Hospital Board; manage infrastructure, occupational health, safety, and risk management.
- Report writing skills and willingness to work longer and irregular hours are required.
