Job description

Chief Executive Officer (Insurance) required in Johannesburg.

COO with either CA(SA) or Actuarial Degree and strong operational background in insurance (minimum 5 years’ managerial capacity and minimum 8-10 years’ experience in insurance operations) required to join this FSP based in Sandton, and will be responsible for strategy and overseeing and optimising post sales insurance operations.

Minimum requirements:

  • CA(SA) or Actuarial Degree essential
  • Minimum 5 years’ managerial experience or leadership role within the insurance industry required
  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in insurance operations required
  • Strong operational background in insurance essential
  • In-depth knowledge of post sales insurance processes, including customer service, claims management and retention strategies required
  • Experience in process improvement, operational efficiency and performance optimisation required
  • Analytical skills with ability to interpret data and drive informed decision making skills essential
  • Experience in leading cross functional teams and management large scale operations initiatives required
  • Knowledge of insurance related systems and CRM tools required

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for strategy and overseeing optimisation of post sales insurance operations
  • Design and execute on customer support strategy
  • Design and implement products, processes and systems which lead to positive customer outcomes
  • Oversee and enhance post-sales insurance operations – customer service, claims management and retention strategies
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures
  • Lead and mentor team of managers and professionals
  • Drive process improvement
  • Monitor and analyse key performance metrics
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations and company policies
  • Liaise with IT and digital teams to enhance technology
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve customer satisfaction
  • Manage budgets, resource allocation and cost optimisation for operational function
  • Work closely with CEO and CFO re key strategic partner management
