Job Description
To oversee the company's core business operations and support functions, liaise with stakeholders, and drive strategic business growth through providing strategic leadership. The CEO will represent the company to clients, investors, regulatory authorities, and the public, playing a crucial role in building and maintaining a strong market presence. Responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction regarding operational plans and objectives, maximizing growth, innovation, and new development interventions aligned with best business practices.
DUTIES
Strategic Planning
- Develop and execute business strategies to achieve short, medium, and long-term goals and company policies.
- Provide market insights and strategic advice related to business development.
- Develop and implement strategic business plans to improve cost-efficiency and drive organizational success in line with the company's vision.
- Formulate and implement strategic operational plans and objectives.
Financial & Risk Planning
- Oversee financial reporting and accounting, including management accounts, financial statements, and projections, in accordance with applicable rules and policies.
- Review financial information and adjust budgets to promote profitability.
- Ensure accountability for the overall financial performance and growth of the business.
- Implement measures to mitigate and control risks.
Human Resource Management
- Support recruitment of leadership and key positions.
- Define responsibilities for the leadership team.
- Recommend compensation arrangements to attract competent personnel.
- Manage staff through HR policies, including hiring, training, evaluations, discipline, and updates to job descriptions.
- Plan for future staffing needs based on project and service delivery requirements.
- Revise and formulate policies, ensuring legal and policy compliance.
Operations
- Monitor and evaluate operational workflow for efficiency.
- Oversee business operations, financial performance, investments, maintenance, logistics, sales, marketing, and human capital.
- Provide leadership and delegate responsibilities to managers.
- Address and resolve operational issues.
- Analyze data to evaluate overall business performance.
- Regularly review and improve business procedures.
- Maintain a positive and safe work environment in compliance with legislation.
Stakeholder Management
- Maintain positive relations with partners, shareholders, and authorities.
- Enhance the company's profile at events and engagements.
- Manage relationships and agreements with external partners and vendors.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years management experience in a similar or equivalent role.
- Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, LLB, or related fields.
- Preferred: MBA, MBL, or equivalent.
