Job description

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer

Location: Gauteng, Johannesburg | Deadline: September 11, 2025

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  1. Develop and implement a strategy and operational business plan.
  2. Define the overall strategy and develop the organisational strategic plan approved by the Board.
  3. Translate the business strategy into an operational plan.
  4. Develop social housing projects with the transport corridor and inner city.
  5. Define the organisational structure to support the strategic plan.
  6. Oversee development and maintenance of organisational culture and values.

Financial Sustainability:

  1. Ensure business development, new client acquisition, and client satisfaction.
  2. Oversee the development of the company budget approved by the Board.
  3. Monitor financial performance and oversee investment of surplus funds.
  4. Ensure efficient financial processes and cost-effective projects with quality standards.
  5. Maintain clean audits.

Corporate Governance and Compliance:

  1. Implement good corporate governance practices.
  2. Ensure compliance with legislation.
  3. Provide guidance to the Board and Board Committees.
  4. Report on organisational performance.

Operational Management:

  1. Develop business processes and monitoring systems.
  2. Ensure operational standards and compliance with legislation.
  3. Oversee daily operations and organizational activities.

Risk Management:

  1. Identify and monitor organizational risks.
  2. Report on risk management strategies.

Stakeholder Management:

  1. Build networks for fundraising and stakeholder engagement.
  2. Ensure transparency and community satisfaction.

People Management:

  1. Ensure qualified staffing and performance management.
  2. Promote a high-performance culture and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Build Environment, or related (NQF level 9).
  • Professional membership and MFMA certification or ability to acquire it within 18 months.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • At least 7 years of experience, with 5 at the executive level.
  • Knowledge of MFMA Treasury Regulations, SHRA, IDP, KING IV, Companies Act, and relevant legislation.
  • Experience serving on Boards or at Board level is required.
