Role Description

This is a volunteer role for a Chief Economist, located in the Johannesburg Metropolitan Area with a hybrid working arrangement, allowing some work to be done from home. The Chief Economist will be responsible for leading economic research initiatives, analyzing macroeconomic trends, and advising on policy changes. Day-to-day tasks include conducting economic analyses, developing reports, engaging in strategic planning, and collaborating with other members and stakeholders to shape NEXEC’s economic agenda.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Economic Research, Macroeconomics, and Economics
• Strong Analytical Skills and experience with Statistics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in both independent and collaborative environments
• Experience in policy development and advocacy is a plus
• Advanced degree in Economics or related field
