Chief Digital Officer

Location :

Salary :

R1.2 million – R1.5 million per annum (Total Cost to Company)

Introduction

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Digital Officer (CDO) to lead a digital transformation journey. This is a high-impact executive role for a forward-thinking leader who can influence across all levels of the organization, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and digitally empowered culture.

Reporting directly to the CEO and CFO, the CDO will play a pivotal role in driving strategic digital initiatives that align with the company's long-term goals.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Degree in Business Administration, Technology, Information Systems, or Project Management (or equivalent).

Key Objectives
  1. Champion digital innovation and act as a catalyst for organizational change.
  2. Develop and implement a comprehensive digital transformation roadmap.
  3. Drive the digitization of legacy processes and systems, ensuring measurable impact.
  4. Foster a culture of digital-first thinking and innovation throughout the business.
  5. Monitor and optimize ROI from digital investments and initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
  1. Define and articulate the company's digital vision in alignment with corporate strategy.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional leadership teams to integrate digital initiatives into core business operations.
  3. Lead the ideation and execution of cutting-edge digital solutions across products, services, marketing, and operations.
  4. Oversee the digital innovation portfolio, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic priorities.
  5. Establish and expand a robust digital ecosystem, both within the organization and with external partners.
  6. Identify, evaluate, and deploy emerging technologies such as AI, automation, CRM platforms, and other digital tools that drive business value.
  7. Support organizational capability building by working with leadership to identify digital skills needs and implement upskilling strategies.
  8. Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing digital team.
  9. Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on all matters related to digital transformation.
Experience and Competencies Required
  1. 5–7 years' experience in a senior digital leadership role with a focus on digital transformation and innovation.
  2. Proven success in designing and launching impactful digital platforms and programs.
  3. Proficiency in Syspro is an added advantage.
  4. Strong understanding of business operations and the technology required to optimize them.
  5. A strategic thinker with a disruptive, innovation-driven mindset.
  6. Demonstrated ability to build consensus, influence stakeholders, and drive organizational change.
  7. Hands-on experience in team leadership and performance management in a digital environment.
