BOXA Possibilities is a company that integrates innovative construction systems with off-grid technologies and circular design to create sustainable, rapid-build solutions for various sectors in African markets.

Job Purpose: This is a full-time on-site role for a Revit Technician at BOXA Possibilities located in Germiston South, Ekurhuleni.

The Revit Technician will play a crucial role in BOXA Possibilities' innovative design and fabrication process, contributing to the development of detailed 2D and 3D models for a variety of architectural, engineering, and construction projects.

The role involves leveraging cutting-edge digital fabrication methods, including CNC machining and parametric design tools like Revit and Grasshopper, to ensure the creation of high-quality, sustainable, and customizable building solutions.

The Revit Technician will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, clients, and contractors to ensure the precision and technical accuracy of all designs, ultimately supporting the successful realization of projects that push the boundaries of modern architecture and construction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop detailed 2D and 3D models in Revit for architectural, engineering, or construction projects.
2. Collaborate with the team to integrate digital fabrication processes, including CNC machining using the in-house 7-axis CNC machine.
3. Prepare and review shop drawings for CNC fabrication, ensuring accuracy and precision.
4. Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project deliverables meet all technical specifications.
5. Assist in coordinating and solving design challenges using Revit and Grasshopper workflows.
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends in digital fabrication and parametric design.
7. Create render imagery for marketing purposes.
8. Design and creation of all marketing material and imagery.

Requirements:

1. At least 5 years of experience in a relevant design field.
2. Proven experience working with Revit in an architecture, construction, or engineering environment.
3. Familiarity with Grasshopper for parametric modeling and generating complex geometries is a bonus.
4. Proficiency with Revit for creating detailed architectural or engineering drawings and models.
5. Familiarity with CNC machining processes, including preparing files for CNC fabrication - not essential but willingness to learn.
6. Strong understanding of digital fabrication methods, including materials, tools, and machinery used in CNC.
7. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and CAD files.
8. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
9. A high level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
10. Previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is a bonus.
11. Graphic design skills would be beneficial.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with other computational design tools such as Rhino, Dynamo, or AutoCAD.
2. Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or C# is a plus but not required.
3. Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modelling) workflows.
