Mintek invites applications for Head: Comminution in the Mineral Processing Division. The role leads a technical group, directs RDI strategy, and ensures delivery of high-impact research and commercial test work in comminution, flotation and physical separation.

The successful candidate will provide technical guidance, develop funding proposals, manage budgets, and mentor staff, while maintaining industry relationships and advancing Mintek's position as a value-driven technology partner.

Qualifications

• Minimum: MSc Engineering Degree or Metallurgical Engineering.
• Ideal: PhD.
• 8–12 years in mineral processing related to duties and responsibilities.
• 5 years of line management experience.
• 3 years preferable experience in mineral processing (physical separation, comminution or flotation) simulation modelling.

Responsabilités

• Provide scientific leadership within the discipline.
• Drive the Discipline RDI strategy and operations; develop implementation plans.
• Support business development and commercialization; manage execution of strategic programmes.
• Mentor staff; monitor project milestones; secure funding.
• Prepare large funding proposals to attract diverse funding sources.
• Manage budgets and CAPEX; ensure high technical standards and governance.
