Chief Commercial Officer (Fintech)
The Chief Commercial Officer will be responsible for shaping and executing our client’s commercial strategy. You will lead Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Business Development teams, ensuring strong market positioning, partner growth, and scalable revenue. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a key role in driving sustainable growth and long-term customer value.

Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in a CCO, Commercial Director, VP Sales/Marketing, or similar role within fintech, lending, digital banking, or SaaS.
- Strong background in B2B and/or SME financial services.
- Experience managing and scaling revenue functions in a tech-driven, fast-growth company.
- Demonstrated success in building high-performing sales and marketing teams.
- Strong understanding of digital acquisition, customer lifecycle management, and conversion strategies.
- Strategic thinker with excellent execution and negotiation skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, stakeholder engagement, and leadership abilities.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
Responsibilities
- Commercial Strategy: Develop and execute the company’s overall commercial roadmap aligned with strategic business objectives.
- Sales Leadership: Drive the B2B sales strategy and lead the commercial sales team to achieve aggressive growth targets across South Africa.
- Marketing Alignment: Oversee go-to-market strategy, customer segmentation, and integrated marketing initiatives in partnership with the Marketing team.
- Customer Experience: Ensure an outstanding client journey by optimizing onboarding, support, and retention metrics.
- Strategic Partnerships: Identify and build high-impact partnerships with ecosystem players (banks, fintechs, platforms).
- Revenue Ownership: Own all revenue KPIs – acquisition, retention, upsell, and customer lifetime value (CLTV).
- Team Development: Recruit, coach, and lead a high-performing commercial team, fostering a culture of innovation, performance, and collaboration.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Finance, Risk, and Tech teams to align commercial efforts with product delivery and company vision.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making: Leverage analytics to optimize pricing, campaigns, and channel performance.
