Job description

This role encompasses planning, developing, and implementing commercial strategies to support the group's business development and sales and marketing strategy.

KPIs:

  1. Group Commercial Strategy and functional team deliverables
  2. Sales strategy and functional team deliverables
  3. Marketing strategy and functional team deliverables
  4. Remarketing strategy and functional team deliverables relating to off-lease and refurbished equipment
  5. Ad-hoc Projects
  6. Effective people management
  7. Effective self-management and performance ownership

Group Commercial Strategy and functional team deliverables:

  1. Enhance and develop the commercial strategy for the group.
  2. Drive the development of markets and territories in South Africa and broader SADC region.
  3. Develop new/relevant & implement new product offering across the group companies.
  4. Conduct market research and ongoing environmental scanning to ensure the relevance of the group to market needs.
  5. Monitor commercial activities to drive group sustainability.

Sales strategy and functional team deliverables:

  1. Achievement of targets.
  2. Alignment of sales strategy to overall organizational strategy.
  3. Alignment to legislation.
  4. Sustainability.

Marketing strategy and functional team deliverables:

  1. Provide support in terms of high-level engagements.
  2. Develop networks and brand presence within industry circles.
  3. Create alliances with market players (e.g. suppliers).
  4. Market and promote the brand and product offering.
  5. Identify and open opportunities for markets and segments.
  6. Maintain and retain key accounts.
  7. Explore and develop new business.
  8. Explore social media channels.

Project Management:

  1. Fulfillment of project objectives.
  2. Quality, relevance and timeliness of project outputs achieved.

Effective people management:

  1. Effective leadership/management.
  2. Effective job analysis, evaluation and appropriate staffing (including future planning).
  3. Effective performance management and organizational discipline.
  4. Effective employee welfare, career development and training.
  5. Effective management of strategic and statutory HR issues.
  6. Compliance to company policies and procedures, corporate governance and relevant legislation.

Education and Experience:

  1. Commercial Degree and or Post Graduate Degree or equivalent in management/similar.
  2. 10-15 years experience in a Financial Services or Asset Management Finance environment.
  3. Excellent understanding of Commercial, Sales and Marketing within an asset-based finance banking environment.
  4. Sound business acumen.
  5. Strong analytical skills.
  6. Strategic liaison & influencing skills.
  7. Sound understanding and application of business technologies.
  8. Presentation and business communication skills.
  9. Excellent MS Office skills (advanced Excel).
  10. Strong working knowledge of funding markets.
  11. Wide base of existing OEM and industry relationships.

Salary: R1.5 - R1.8 mill pa CTC
