Placements24 in Mossel Bay is seeking a proactive Chemical Project Engineer to lead chemical engineering projects from concept through execution. You will plan, allocate resources, manage budgets, and ensure on-time delivery within scope and quality targets.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, engage suppliers and contractors, and develop scopes, risk plans and status reports for senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project engineering, preferably in chemical industry.
• Proven track record of successfully managing capital projects.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Chemical Project Engineer to manage and execute chemical engineering projects from conception through to completion in Mossel Bay. This role involves detailed planning, resource allocation, budget management, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. You will work with cross-functional teams to drive successful project outcomes, contributing to the growth and operational excellence of the company in the picturesque coastal region of the Western Cape.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and closing of chemical engineering projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Develop detailed project scopes, specifications, and risk management plans.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality requirements.
• Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering, preferably within the chemical industry.
• Proven track record of successfully managing capital projects.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
