About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic Chemical Engineer with strong project management capabilities to join their team in Port Elizabeth . This role will involve overseeing chemical engineering projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring project activities, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and managing stakeholders to achieve project objectives in the Eastern Cape . This is an exciting opportunity for a technically proficient engineer to take on leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and successful completion of chemical engineering projects.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Coordinate and manage project teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in project engineering or project management roles.
- Proven track record of successfully managing chemical plant projects.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP principles).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure in Port Elizabeth .
