You will ensure adherence to South African environmental laws, develop EMS (ISO 14001), monitor emissions and waste streams, and drive sustainability initiatives across industrial operations to minimize environmental impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
• At least 4 years in environmental engineering or compliance in industry.
• Strong knowledge of SA environmental legislation and permitting.

Our client, a diversified manufacturing group, is seeking a dedicated Chemical Engineer with a focus on Environmental Compliance for their facility in Benoni, Gauteng. This role embraces a hybrid work model, allowing for a blend of on-site operational engagement and remote administrative tasks. You will be responsible for ensuring the company adheres to all environmental regulations and permits, managing waste streams, monitoring emissions, and implementing sustainable practices across operations. This position requires a strong understanding of environmental engineering principles, regulatory frameworks, and process analysis. Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all local, regional, and national environmental laws, regulations, and permit requirements.
• Develop, implement, and manage environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).

• Conduct environmental impact assessments for new projects and process modifications.
• Identify opportunities for waste reduction, pollution prevention, and resource conservation.

Requirements

• B.Eng. or B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.

• Experience with environmental monitoring techniques and data analysis.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing environmental management systems.
