Job summary

Pick n Pay in South Africa seeks a Cashier Supervisor to support cashiers, liaise between management and till points, and supervise day-to-day operations to ensure smooth till operations.

You will handle queries, authorize transactions, manage queues, uphold hygiene and safety, prevent wastage, and communicate with staff, management, customers and suppliers to maintain high service standards.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years cashier-related work experience.
• Computer literate with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prompt response to queries from cashiers.
• Authorize transactions according to laid down procedures.
• Manage queues at checkouts.
• Ensure that hygiene, housekeeping and safe working standards are maintained.
• Ensure that security procedures are adhered to.
• Approach and advise customers in a professional manner.
• Prevent wastage/shrinkage/damages.
• Communicate effectively with employees, management, customers and suppliers.
• Manage employees to ensure standards are maintained by competent, motivated employees.
• Ensure that all administration is completed accurately and timeously, e.g. scheduling of staff.
