Our client, a leading agricultural enterprise situated in the picturesque region of George, Western Cape , is looking for an accomplished Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) to fill the crucial role of Financial Manager. This position is integral to the strategic direction and operational efficiency of the company, offering significant responsibility and scope for impact. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of financial management, strong leadership capabilities, and a commitment to driving financial excellence. This role is based at our client's head office in George, Western Cape, ZA , requiring full-time presence to effectively manage financial operations and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's long-term goals.
• Oversee the preparation of annual financial statements, management accounts, and other financial reports in compliance with IFRS.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and investment activities to optimize financial performance.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and internal control policies.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, promoting professional development and high performance.
• Conduct financial analysis, identify key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide actionable insights to senior management.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, bankers, and regulatory bodies.
• Implement and maintain robust internal control systems to mitigate financial risks.
• Drive efficiency improvements within the finance department through process optimization and technology adoption.

Requirements

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA) or equivalent).
• Minimum of 7 years of post-articles experience in financial management or a similar role.
• Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African corporate tax legislation.
• Experience in the agricultural sector is a significant advantage.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
• High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and attention to detail.
