Job description

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is an Acute Hospital in the East of England with a positive approach to developing and delivering healthcare excellence.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and inspiring Theatre Charge Nurse to join our friendly and dedicated team.

Our facility has 23 theatres covering a wide range of specialties, offering numerous learning opportunities within a supportive environment.

The successful candidate will work in Emergency, Colorectal, Vascular, Urology (including Robotics), and Upper GI surgeries.

Please note that this role may close early due to the number of applications.

This position involves supporting the Clinical Leads, Matron, and Theatre Manager in managing all theatre areas at the unit level, ensuring the team delivers excellent care throughout the patient journey.

You should be flexible and willing to provide additional support in other theatre areas as required.

If successful, you will promote teamwork and share workload responsibilities across the department.

You need to be visionary and dynamic, assisting leadership in driving the team forward in a rapidly changing environment and in developing junior staff.

You will develop staff communication skills within the multidisciplinary team, patients, and families.

Assist in assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating care in line with the unit’s core values.

Ensure all staff understand their roles and responsibilities to provide a safe, efficient, and cost-effective service.

You will promote a holistic, current, effective, and research-based approach to patient care, in accordance with Trust and Theatre policies and in collaboration with other disciplines.
