Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of integrated change and culture strategies.
  • Partner with executives and project teams to embed people-side change.
  • Conduct stakeholder and readiness assessments to identify adoption needs and risks.
  • Translate culture priorities into observable leadership behaviors.
  • Develop stakeholder engagement, sponsorship, comms, learning and reinforcement plans.

Job Description

The Change & Culture Lead is a senior specialist role within the Old Mutual Wealth Human Capital team.

The role partners with executives, leaders, Human Capital Business Partners and project teams to lead the people and culture dimensions of strategic change across the business.

The successful candidate will translate business priorities into integrated change and culture strategies that build readiness, strengthen leadership alignment, drives adoption and embed sustainable ways of working.

The role will also lead culture activation initiatives, build change capability across the organisation and use data and employee insights to assess progress and continuously improve interventions.

This opportunity is suited to an experienced change and culture professional who is comfortable navigating ambiguity, influencing senior stakeholders and managing multiple priorities in a complex, highly regulated and rapidly changing environment.

The role is based in Pinelands, Cape Town

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of integrated change and culture strategies aligned to business and Human Capital priorities.

  • Partner with executives, sponsors, Human Capital Business Partners and project teams to integrate the people side of change into strategic initiatives.

  • Conduct stakeholder, change impact and readiness assessments to identify affected groups, adoption requirements, risks and potential resistance.

  • Translate culture priorities into clear, observable leadership and employee behaviours that can be activated and sustained in the flow of work.

  • Develop and deliver stakeholder engagement, sponsorship, communication, learning and reinforcement plans.

  • Coach and equip executives, leaders and change champions to communicate change effectively, role-model the required behaviours and support their teams through transition.

  • Facilitate leadership alignment sessions, workshops, focus groups and employee engagements that build understanding, commitment and accountability.

  • Identify, manage and mitigate people-related risks and barriers that could affect adoption, culture or business continuity.

  • Establish fit-for-purpose change methodologies, tools, templates and governance practices that support disciplined and consistent execution.

  • Build practical change capability across line leadership and the Human Capital community through learning content, toolkits, coaching and knowledge transfer.

  • Define and monitor measures of change readiness, adoption, employee sentiment, behavioural shift and culture impact.

  • Use feedback and data to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, recommend corrective action and report progress to key stakeholders.

  • Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, adapting plans quickly as business priorities and operating conditions evolve.

  • Stay informed about emerging practices in organisational change, culture, employee experience and transformation, and apply relevant insights to the Wealth context.

Qualifications and Experience required
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, Organisational Development, Business, or a related field.

  • A recognised change management qualification or certification is advantageous.

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in organisational change, culture transformation or organisational development, including experience leading complex or enterprise-wide change initiatives.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated change strategies across multiple stakeholder groups.

  • Proven experience advising, coaching and influencing executives and senior leaders.

  • Experience designing and facilitating leadership, culture and employee engagement interventions.

  • Strong understanding of culture change, organisational behaviour, employee engagement and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging principles.

  • Experience using qualitative and quantitative data to assess readiness, sentiment, adoption and intervention effectiveness.

  • Experience in financial services or another complex, highly regulated environment is advantageous.

  • Experience working effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, competing demands and high levels of ambiguity.
