Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Liaise with project leadership to integrate stakeholder feedback into change plans.

Change Planning & Control:

  • Develop and manage a detailed change control plan aligned with the waterfall delivery method.
  • Establish formal processes for change requests, evaluation, approval, and implementation.
  • Maintain a change log and ensure traceability and transparency of all change activities.

Gap Analysis:

  • Conduct expectation and readiness assessments to identify misalignments.
  • Recommend interventions to close gaps between stakeholder groups.

Training & Capacity Building:

  • Work with relevant faculties and technical leads to develop and roll out targeted training programs.
  • Coordinate user readiness campaigns and documentation of new procedures and tools.

Communication & Reporting:

  • Draft and disseminate change communications (newsletters, FAQs, updates).
  • Provide regular reports to the Project Manager and Project Sponsor on change impacts and adoption progress.

Risk & Issue Management:

  • Proactively identify risks related to resistance or poor adoption and escalate appropriately.
  • Implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruption and improve stakeholder buy-in.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in project management, Education Technology, ICT, Change Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing change in large-scale, technology-driven projects.
  • Familiarity with higher education environments and academic culture is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of change management methodologies (e.g., ADKAR, Kotter, Prosci).
  • Proven experience facilitating workshops, focus groups, and training sessions.
  • Change Management certification (Prosci, APMG, etc.)
  • Experience with smart classrooms, digital learning platforms, or 4IR technologies
  • Familiarity with South African higher education regulatory environment
