Job summary

Mindrift is seeking a freelance CFD specialist to help train and evaluate AI agents on expert-level fluid simulation tasks. You will take CAD geometry, set up and run simulations, build verified reference solutions, and write Python checks for agent results.

Projects are remote and part-time, with estimated 10–20 hours per week during active phases. Compensation is up to $23 per hour, with performance-based bonuses and multiple projects available on the platform.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field such as energy or oil & gas. A PhD is preferred but not required
• Several years of hands-on industry or research CFD with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX or STAR-CCM+, including meshing
• Solid verification and validation practice: mesh-independence studies, and validation against experiment or benchmarks
• Comfortable with Python and GitHub
• English at B2 level or above
• Nice to have: aerospace, automotive, offshore or turbomachinery background; multiphase or particle-laden flow experience

Compensation

On this project, contributors can earn up to $23 per hour equivalent, depending on their level and pace of contribution.
