Job Description

This is an operational senior-level role. The CEO is responsible for capacitating the organisation through programmes, fundraising initiatives, and partnerships with relevant communities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Fundraising
  • Operational matters
  • Business growth
  • Policy formulation
  • Stakeholder relations

The CEO will drive the organisation's ambition under the global strategy to achieve disability transformative programmes and influence at local, national, regional, and global levels for maximum impact.

Roles and Responsibilities

The CEO is expected to engage with internal and external stakeholders, including:

  • Member organisations
  • The Board and Executive Committee
  • Partners and collaborators
  • Government departments
  • Persons with Disabilities (PWD) communities
  • Private companies, funders, and investors
Fundraising

Fundraising is a critical component. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to lobby for funds and donations, with impeccable financial acumen.

Policy Formation

The candidate will help develop policies and lobby government and relevant stakeholders.

Advocacy

Form alliances with stakeholders and engage PWD communities through employment creation programs.

Qualifications
  • Matric, tertiary education a bonus
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Relevant NGO experience (mandatory)
Experience
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years at senior or executive level within an NGO
  • Understanding of NGO CEO requirements
  • Proven track record in managing complex stakeholder engagements
  • Exceptional fundraising skills
