Position Summary

Operate Ready Mix / Concrete Truck safely and efficiently, adhering to Martin Marietta and Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily preventative maintenance, record-keeping, and inspections on vehicles, including fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, and checking/adding fluids as needed.
• Use water hoses to clean mixers between loads.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Assist maintenance with repairs as needed.
• Visually inspect the consistency of concrete in the mixer.
• Communicate and direct coworkers verbally, via radio, or hand signals.
• Provide appropriate documentation on delivery tickets, ensuring all are signed and returned.
• Exercise good judgment regarding work site access, unloading, and operation.
• Maintain good customer relations and professional appearance.
• Assist in training co-workers as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout and regulatory compliance.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Possess a Class A or B Commercial Drivers' License (CDL).
• One-year experience operating tandem trucks and/or Ready Mix trucks preferred.
• Maintain a safe driving record and active DOT qualification.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to perform well in a team environment and be self-motivated.

Physical and Working Conditions

• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, reach, squat, stand, walk, bend, crawl, kneel, push, and pull.
• Operate hand controls and foot pedals with both hands and feet.
• Perform overhead reaching and use vibration tools.
• Tolerate working outdoors in all weather conditions and at heights up to 9 feet.
• Work in areas with potential high noise levels.
• Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, and every other Saturday.
