Job summary

A leading food service provider in South Africa seeks an experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations and manage food service activities. The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification in food services, at least 3 years of kitchen management experience, and must have knowledge of HACCP standards. Experience in high-volume operations is desirable.

Job description

The Main Purpose of the Job

The successful incumbent will be responsible for assisting with all food service-related activities, including managing daily kitchen operations, implementing the production process, managing food and labour costs, and ensuring compliance with HACCP standards.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in food and beverage services or culinary arts is compulsory.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in progressive kitchen management is compulsory.
  • Experience working within budget guidelines to deliver results is compulsory.
  • Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations is highly desirable.
  • Hospital experience is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of HSE standards is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of special diets is compulsory.
  • Must have healthcare experience.

  • Knowledge of the catering environment, from fine dining to restaurant dining.

  • Assist in the strategic and day-to-day management of operations.
