Job description

The Main Purpose of the Job

The successful incumbent will be responsible for assisting with all food service-related activities, including managing daily kitchen operations, implementing the production process, managing food and labour costs, and ensuring compliance with HACCP standards.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in food and beverage services or culinary arts is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive kitchen management experience is mandatory.
  • Experience working within budget guidelines to deliver results is mandatory.
  • Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations is highly desirable.
  • Hospital experience is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of HSE is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of special diets is mandatory.
  • Healthcare experience is required.

  • Knowledge of catering environments ranging from fine dining to restaurant service.
  • Understanding of South African and industry-specific laws.
