Job description

We are seeking a professional, health-focused Catering Manager to oversee and manage daily catering operations at a corporate and wellness centre in Richmond, KZN. This role emphasizes nutritious, high-quality meals, exceptional client service, and seamless delivery for both corporate functions and wellness programs. You will lead a small team of catering staff, plan menus aligned with wellness objectives, and ensure a consistently positive dining experience for staff, guests, and visitors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Menu & Nutritional Planning
    • Collaborate with nutritionists and chefs to develop menus that support healthy eating and corporate wellness goals
    • Adjust offerings for dietary restrictions (e.g., vegan, gluten-free, low-GI)
  2. Corporate Catering
    • Coordinate daily breakfast/lunch services, meetings, and executive boardroom catering
    • Manage catering for internal events, workshops, and VIP functions
    • Ensure on-time delivery and professional presentation
  3. Wellness Event Support
    • Oversee catering for wellness programs (e.g., yoga retreats, mindfulness sessions, fitness challenges)
    • Support health-aligned meal plans for wellness centre participants
  4. Team Leadership
    • Supervise, train, and schedule catering staff
    • Maintain a positive and motivated work environment
  5. Operations & Budget Management
    • Manage food and supply budgets, sourcing high-quality ingredients
    • Monitor cost-efficiency without compromising health or quality
    • Maintain inventory and ordering processes
  6. Compliance & Quality Control
    • Ensure hygiene standards and food safety compliance (HACCP-aligned)
    • Oversee cleanliness of kitchen and service areas
    • Conduct regular quality checks and feedback reviews
REQUIREMENTS
  1. Tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or Nutrition (an added advantage)
  2. Minimum 5 years+ in a catering management or hospitality supervisory role (Essential)
  3. Knowledge of nutrition and wellness-oriented meal planning
  4. Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities
  5. Excellent communication and client service skills
  6. Computer literate (Microsoft Office, basic catering software)
REMUNERATION

R15,000 to R20,000 per month (Negotiable – depending on experience and/or qualification)
