Introduction

This exciting opportunity exists in our Online Shopping Division at our PnP Offices. We are looking for a customer centric Category Manager to manage the end-to-end sales and profitability of a category through the analysis of profit margin, sales data and inventory levels.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Assortment Optimisation - Compile and review online category plan and ensure ranges are selected from the national range and customer experience is in line with the role of category.
  2. Develops the best possible customer proposition by implementing assortment planning based on data and customer analytics, being competitively priced, ensuring attractive promotions and a visually appealing and customer centric website.
  3. Drives online sales and profit - Drives Sales with new and creative sales growth strategies and drives the category strategy in line with the online promotional strategies, product & promotional plans. Ensures stock is available to meet the customers demands.
  4. Manages each product category in a way that enables maximum consumer appeal while maximizing profit mix.
  5. Increase market share - Sources products from national range and in line with category & platform strategies.
  6. Identifies launches within category Trade Plans and content to drive online awareness and seeks new opportunities for online marketing campaigns.
  7. Drives merchant behavior - provides thought leadership and awareness amongst merchants and suppliers.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  1. Relevant Degree/Diploma qualification advantageous.
  2. A minimum of 3 years' experience in Category Management.
  3. SAP & BW knowledge advantageous.
  4. Previous experience in the FMCG and or General Merchandise industry will be advantageous.
  5. Previous experience within the retail environment advantageous.
  6. Proficiency in MS Excel essential.
  7. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
