Job Description
The Category Manager (Project Moore) supports the Strategic Sourcing team in managing all contract separation and negotiation activities related to the Anglo-American divestment.

Key Result Areas
  • Implement category strategies with stakeholder input and leadership buy-in, based on strategic sourcing principles.
  • Ensure categorized spend is accessible to stakeholders, and strategies and initiatives are communicated effectively.
  • Develop and execute value delivery plans and pipelines to drive value across the Group of Companies (GoC).
  • Address strategic sourcing focus areas and track spend conversion progress.
Support local procurement and black economic empowerment initiatives.
  • Manage and increase black economic spend and local procurement.
  • Establish new suppliers, evaluate them, and involve them in bidding activities.
Negotiate and manage high-value contracts, including amendments and price adjustments.
Manage supplier relationships and sourcing strategies to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
Oversee contracts in line with governance standards, including price controls, registers, and performance management.
Enhance business unit effectiveness by integrating requirements, benchmarking, increasing group-wide expenditures, reviewing supplier performance, managing strategic relationships, and rationalizing suppliers.
Ensure sourcing aligns with technical, commercial, and sustainability standards.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements include a relevant degree (e.g., Business, Engineering), advanced qualifications (MBA, MCIPs) preferred, 5-10 years of supply chain experience, familiarity with both direct and indirect sourcing, and leadership skills. Experience in mining or related environments, legal knowledge, and specific expertise in metallurgical plant equipment are advantageous.
