Job description

takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Catalogue Listings Manager to join our Merchandising, Promotions & Catalogue team in Cape Town.

The position reports to the Head of Merchandising, Promotions & Catalogue.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Management of a team that is responsible for the catalogue data uploads of new catalogue listings and editing of existing catalogue listings across both Retail and Marketplace.
  2. Reporting on Catalogue Activity and Productivity ensuring turnaround times and quality targets are achieved.
  3. Fault finding, root cause investigations, preventative measures and continuous improvements.
  4. Ensuring standards and processes are in place to deliver accurate and complete listings.
  5. Balancing of resources between different operational teams including resource planning and task pipeline management to deliver on performance targets related to quality, throughput and stakeholder management.
  6. Ensuring the correct implementation of the Catalogue Product Information Requirements document.
  7. Maintain any changes to the catalogue systems, process and procedures and update the catalogue user guides accordingly.
  8. Working cross-functionally with the Retail Divisionals and Marketplace Team as the point of contact for internal priorities.
  9. Working with the Catalogue product team to ensure the roadmap supports strategies for improving the quality and scale of new product listings.
  10. Where relevant, manage the catalogue creation charge-out function for Merchants.
  11. Coordinating and controlling photography services.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or similar related to management or 5-10 years relevant working experience.
  2. 3 Years+ managerial experience.
  3. Experience with large-data (Advantageous).
  4. Retail/FMCG experience (Advantageous).
  5. Proven track record in managing a large team.
  6. Track record of improving business systems and processes.
  7. Able to communicate business requirements to product teams.
