Job summary

A dynamic educational institution in Johannesburg is seeking a passionate CAT and CODING AND ROBOTICS Educator to join their team. The ideal candidate must hold a recognized degree or a professional teaching qualification with at least three years of relevant teaching experience. Successful applicants will facilitate engaging lessons for Grades 7-12, create innovative assessments, and contribute to co-curricular activities. This is a permanent role commencing January 2026.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience with Senior and FET phases.
  • Full SACE registration required.
  • Experience in IEB curriculum and SAGS.

CAT, CODING AND ROBOTICS AND JUNIOR MATHEMATICS

Broadacres Academy High School, situated in Chartwell, offers education to Grade 7 – 12 students, under the auspices of the IEB. We are looking for a CAT and CODING AND ROBOTICS Educator to join our dynamic and innovative team.

Broadacres Academy has a Constructivist Learning approach at its foundation, encouraging a love of learning in students. The High School aims to prepare students for the world of work by allowing students to thrive in all aspects of a modern educational space.

Applicants should therefore have high energy and commitment. Applicants should be student centered and particularly experienced in dealing with young people from Grades 7 to 12. Applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills and be willing to work within a team creating and sharing knowledge. Please view additional requirements below.

SPECIFIC AREAS OF FOCUS:CAT, CODING AND ROBOTICS AND JUNIOR MATHEMATICS

CONTRACT TYPE: PERMANENT

STARTING DATE: JANUARY 2026

THE SUITABLE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE AS A MINIMUM:

  • a recognized degree and/or a 4-year professional teaching qualification
  • 3- 5 years’ experience and training in working with the Senior and FET phases
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in the IEB curriculum and SAGS
  • full SACE registration
  • suitable prior experience in the specific subject field (preferably to Grade 12 level)
  • knowledge in creating varied and innovative assessments, particularly under the auspices of the IEB
  • working knowledge of Constructivist practice
  • the ability to think out-of-the-box and a flexible and adaptable teaching style

THE SUITABLE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE PREFERABLY:

  • experience as an IEB marker, moderator and/or assessor
  • knowledge or passion for integrating the specific subject field in an interdisciplinary Constructivist approach.
  • knowledge in integrating ICT skills within the classroom and collaborative spaces
  • ability and passion for co-curricular involvement in sport, cultural or administrative areas
