Job description

The purpose of this job is to ensure and maintain an efficient service, this includes following the cash register procedure and accurately ringing up sales, in such a manner that it results in an increase in customer satisfaction and continuous growth of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Greet customers as they enter the store
  2. Follow cash up procedure
  3. Check cash received by customer
  4. Process EFT payments
  5. Ensure all sales are rang up accurately and efficiently on the registers
  6. Pack purchase items in shopping bags
  7. Hand over cash drops to superior, for security measures
  8. Perform daily cash ups
  9. Be aware of suspicious looking customers
  10. Be aware of all promotional products on sale
  11. Issue gift cards, check customers reward cards and cash in points
  12. Responsible for housekeeping of work area
  13. Participate in perpetual stock takes
  14. Perform any work related tasks as delegated by superior

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Matric or Equivalent
  2. 1 Year minimum experience in a similar role
  3. Brights Induction (service excellence)
  4. Clear credit score
  5. Good customer service and interpersonal skills
  6. Awareness & Vigilance
  7. Ability to handle pressure
  8. Numerical skills
  9. Ability to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision
  10. Exceptional organisational ability, high attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  11. Willing to work flexible hours and holidays to meet the needs of the business
