Scanning items and ensuring prices are correct.
Calculating the total purchase amount, including taxes, and processing payments (cash, credit / debit cards, etc.).
Issuing receipts, refunds, or change.
Customer Service :
Greeting customers and assisting them with questions.
Resolving customer complaints or issues with purchases.
Maintaining a positive and friendly demeanour.
Maintaining Cash Register :
Keeping the register clean and organized.
Ensuring there is enough change in the register for transactions.
Balancing the register at the end of shifts and reporting discrepancies.
Inventory Management :
Checking stock levels and notifying managers when supplies are low.
Assisting in restocking shelves or displays during slow periods.
Security :
Keeping an eye out for fraudulent activities (like counterfeit bills or theft).
Ensuring that all security protocols are followed during transactions.
Other Miscellaneous Tasks :
Sometimes bagging items for customers or offering assistance with packing.
Assisting with opening and closing procedures at the store.
