Job description

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge the customer with a smile and ensure they feel valued and important.
  • Handle all customer questions and concerns effectively.
  • Maintain cleanliness around the tills and ensure they are operational.
  • Count the float at the beginning of shifts, ensure sufficient change, and check that the printer has enough paper and ribbon.
  • Display stock correctly in the resale area and restock fridges and shelves daily.
  • Keep the front of house area clean.
  • Count money in cash drawers at the start of shifts to verify amounts and sufficient change.
  • Complete daily cash-up and related paperwork accurately and according to standards.
  • Issue receipts and return the correct change; account for discrepancies, with shortfalls deducted as per agreement.
  • Assist in the smooth operation of the front of house.
  • Support both front and back of house in running orders.
  • Assist with cleaning and other tasks when the store is quiet.
  • Clean the counter and prepare a daily sales analysis.
  • Coordinate with the Admin Assistant/Manager for end-of-shift cash-up procedures.
