Cashbook Accountant

A permanent position for a Cashbook Accountant stationed at our Midrand Head Office. The position will report to the Financial Manager.

Key Performance Areas (not totally inclusive):

1. Prepare weekly and monthly cashflow updates
2. Prepare monthly Bank and Balance sheet reconciliations
3. Assist with asset verification and clearing account
4. Load payments onto the electronic banking system
5. Payment clearings
6. Initiate and prepare all documentation around petty cash, expense claims etc. payments
7. Resolving MOS queries from the branches
8. Preparing of daily and monthly reporting of stats to managers
9. Subcontractor reconciliation and payment
10. Assist with preparation of yearly budgets
11. Preparing and processing monthly accruals
12. Monthly VAT recons

Skills Required:

1. A Recognised tertiary qualification in accounting
2. Minimum 3 years’ working experience in an accounting role
3. Sound working knowledge of the SAP system
4. Proficiency in MS Word and especially Excel is essential (VLOOKUP, PIVOT)
5. Numerical accuracy and high methodical working methods are required
6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
7. Ability to liaise professionally with clients and personnel at all levels
8. Ability to work without supervision, under pressure and meet strict deadlines
9. Comply to all accounting policies and procedures
