Health Care Assistant needed in NHS jobs.
Provide and deliver a high standard of nursing, recognizing and meeting the specific needs of patients. With indirect supervision, manage your own workload within the clinical area and competencies of the post. Monitor and observe the recovery of patients following endoscopy procedures, reporting any abnormalities to the appropriate person.
Escort patients from endoscopy once the escorting module has been completed, under the direction of the registered nurse. Carry out observations of skin integrity over pressure points, recognizing and reporting all findings to senior staff. Assist medical staff and nurse endoscopists in carrying out invasive investigations.
Recognize the importance of health education and teach patients and carers. Advise and refer patients to access information. Document and sign for all observations and care given, with a counter signature from a registered practitioner.
Maintain professional development by attending courses and further training. Participate in the training and development of junior staff and supervise trainee Health Care Assistants.
Act as a mentor to new Health Care Assistants and HCA Trainees, participating in induction programs and ongoing development. Promote and safeguard the well-being of patients, families, and colleagues. Contribute to the development and implementation of unit policy and nursing strategies.
