Health Care Assistant needed at NHS jobs (visa sponsorship available)
Provide and deliver a high standard of nursing care, recognizing and meeting the specific needs of patients. Manage your own workload within the clinical area and competencies of the post, with indirect supervision. Monitor and observe the recovery of patients following endoscopy procedures, reporting any abnormalities to the appropriate person.
Escort patients from endoscopy procedures once the escorting module has been completed, under the direction of the registered nurse. Carry out observations of skin integrity over pressure points, recognizing and reporting all findings to senior staff. Assist medical staff/nurse endoscopists in carrying out invasive investigations.
Recognize the importance of health education, teaching patients and carers, and advising on accessing information. Document and sign all observations and care given, with a countersignature from a registered practitioner.
Maintain professional development by attending courses and further training to enhance your role. Participate in the training and development of junior staff and supervise trainee Health Care Assistants.
Act as a mentor to new Health Care Assistants and HCA Trainees, participating in induction programs and ongoing development. Promote and safeguard the wellbeing of patients, their families, and colleagues. Contribute to the development and implementation of unit policy and nursing strategies.
