Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Offering medication reminders and reporting health changes
  • Supporting clients with mobility and prescribed / daily exercises
  • Preparing nutritious meals and feeding assistance where needed
  • Providing companionship, emotional support, and conversation
  • Carrying out light housekeeping tasks tied to client care
  • Keeping neat and accurate daily care notes for handovers and effective communication with family members and management.

Requirements:

To be considered, you must have the following:

  • A QCTO-accredited qualification in Home-Based Care, Ancillary Health Care, or Community Health Work.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on caregiving experience (preferably in home-based settings).
  • Physically fit – able to assist with lifting, mobility, and client transfers.
  • Warm, compassionate personality with solid emotional resilience.
  • Clear criminal record and valid SA ID (essential).
  • Contactable references from previous care-related roles.
  • Background checks and all certification will be verified.
  • Communication skills in English / Afrikaans and Zulu (adv).
  • Reliable transport.
  • Newcastle residency required.
