Main Purpose of the Position
The core function of this role is to sell audio/visual solutions within the SABC ecosystem. The role primarily involves managing a portfolio of advertiser accounts and agencies, acting as a liaison for clients, ensuring customer satisfaction, and proactively addressing client needs. It also includes growing new client bases and increasing current sales levels to meet revenue targets.
Key Accountabilities
- Achieve set targets within the portfolio.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Create tailored sales deals.
- Negotiate sales, renewals, and renegotiations within governance parameters.
- Offer comprehensive solutions across all platforms to meet client needs.
- Package and sell sponsorable programmes.
- Regularly educate clients on organisational platforms.
- Analyze the competitive market to identify revenue opportunities.
- Conduct needs analysis for clients to understand and identify opportunities.
- Develop media solutions based on client briefs, across platforms.
- Evaluate lost or dropped business to understand reasons and re-establish relationships.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all platforms.
- Collaborate with Product Managers on sponsorship opportunities.
- Use sales management systems (CRM, SAP) effectively to manage sales processes.
- Prepare quarterly reviews and negotiation documents based on client history.
- Plan and optimize client campaigns using industry tools.
- Provide regular feedback to management and clients on progress and commitments.
- Present opportunities to clients through proposals and presentations.
- Follow up on client communications and meet deadlines.
- Manage submissions, term sheets, and contracts efficiently.
- Update contracts register monthly.
- Maintain sound administration and prepare weekly/monthly reports.
- Conduct client visits as agreed.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients.
- Ensure after-sales service to promote client satisfaction and future business.
- Prepare deal evaluations, business cases, and secure approvals.
Qualifications and Experience
- A relevant degree or diploma (NQF 6/7) in Sales, Communication, Marketing, or related fields; additional media/digital sales training is advantageous.
- 6-8 years of sales or sales management experience, preferably in media sales.
- Proven success in media sales.
- Knowledge of integrated/digital sales solutions is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and own transport.
