We are recruiting a minimum of 4 full-time or 8 part-time Care Assistants to provide care and support to people living in North Jesmond (NE2).

You do not need a degree or formal care qualifications to be a Care Assistant, but you will need the right values. Each day is varied, and you will need a can-do attitude.

Job Description

Connecting our customers to community activities; providing care and support that promotes going above and beyond. You will be integral to enabling customers to access local community groups, activities, and events.

1. Provide personal care that protects people's dignity.
2. Promote independence using enabling approaches.
3. Support people to meet their outcomes involving families and professionals.
4. Connect people to their communities, accessing local support and services.
5. Deliver personalized care through individual choice and control.
6. Be a strong and effective communicator, documenting, reporting, and sharing information with the right people at the right time.

Pay: £12.75 per hour (drivers) (paid per shift, not per call, travel time included)

• Drivers may be required to cover all areas including Fawdon, Gosforth, Kenton, Heaton, and Dinnington.
• Bonus schemes: up to £300 new starter, £300 Refer a Friend, £300 annual bonus, and a £25 birthday gift voucher.

As a Care Assistant for Be Caring, your working hours will align with our shift patterns, which include late shifts and alternate weekends.

• Early Shifts: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
• Late Shifts: 3:00 pm - 10:00 pm (finish time depends on public transport times)

We will set your working pattern within a 2-week rota, including:

• Evenings as agreed within your working hours.
• Fully funded DBS.
• Paid induction training: 1 week classroom-based (Monday to Friday), 2 days shadowing, and additional online modules.
• Training development: funded Level 2 and other accredited courses.
• Holiday pay: annual leave accumulates with working hours and length of service.
• Employee Assistance Programme (EAP): 24-hour helpline for advice and guidance.
• Union membership (optional): through our partnership with the GMB.

Induction Training

We seek individuals with Be Caring values to join our team. No prior care experience is necessary; transferable skills from previous roles, such as retail, are welcome. We will provide comprehensive training to help you become an outstanding Care Assistant.

Training includes:
