Job summary

BDO Wave South Africa is seeking an Internal Audit Executive based in Cape Town to support audit, risk, assurance and advisory engagements for UK clients. You will work with UK and SA colleagues, manage tasks, and develop technical and project-management skills under senior guidance.

The role targets 1–2 years' relevant experience with a keen willingness to learn and progress, with coaching to enhance professional judgement and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree completed or due before joining.
• Progress towards CA(SA), CIA, CISA or ACCA advisable.
• 1–2 years' experience in internal audit, risk, assurance or advisory.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to evidence.

Responsibilities

• Support internal audit, risk, assurance and advisory work across planning, fieldwork, reporting and follow-up, completing assigned tasks to objectives and timelines.
• Perform walkthroughs, risk assessments, controls testing and data analysis with clear working papers.
• Apply relevant standards and regulatory requirements with guidance.
• Identify control weaknesses and contribute to practical recommendations.
• Prepare draft reports for review by senior team members.
• Coordinate with UK and SA teams, communicate progress in virtual meetings and presentations.
• Manage tasks, priorities, and engagement administration and budget monitoring.
• Share knowledge and contribute to reusable tools and methodologies.
• Support proposals and client relationship activity.
