Placements24 is seeking a Lead Electrical Project Engineer based in Cape Town to oversee electrical aspects of large-scale industrial projects. You will lead engineering teams, plan resources, manage risks, and ensure compliance with SANS, IEC, and NEC standards. The role requires strong leadership and client coordination across major commercial facilities.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelors/Master's in Electrical Engineering, 8+ years of project management experience, and Pr. Eng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering project management.
• Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA is required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of power systems, distribution, control systems, and HV/LV applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering teams through the project lifecycle from conception to commissioning.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for electrical components.
• Oversee design, procurement of electrical equipment and shop drawings.
• Manage project risks and mitigation strategies to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Ensure adherence to national/international standards (SANS, IEC, NEC) and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders for seamless execution.
• Conduct site inspections and progress reviews to address challenges.
