We offer law graduates the opportunity to serve their practical vocational training with us over two years on our Candidate Attorney Programme.

Our candidate attorney programme offers diverse development opportunities to help each candidate attorney become a valued member of our legal team. We believe in cultivating the knowledge and skills of our people to help them launch successful careers in law.

The Programme

As a candidate attorney at Webber Wentzel, you will be based in either Johannesburg or Cape Town. During the two years, you will rotate in various legal practice areas, exposing you to a wide range of legal disciplines. In addition to receiving invaluable legal training from top attorneys and respected legal practitioners, you will participate in our in-house PLT Programme in preparation for the Attorneys Admission Examinations.

As a value add, we provide platforms to enable more experienced attorneys to impart their wisdom, share legal knowledge, support, and guide you during your two-year journey.

Minimum requirements for consideration:

  • South African citizen / permanent resident
  • Studied / studying at a South African Institution / SAQA equivalent qualification
  • Expect to complete an LLB degree by 1 January 2027

We require the following to accompany your application:

  • Most recent academic transcripts including current year of study
  • Academic transcripts of any undergraduate qualification (and any other relevant qualifications)
  • Matric certificate
  • Copy of ID
